Software Engineer II (Remote Eligible from Bulgaria)

Smartsheet is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our expanding team in Bulgaria. As a global leader in Intelligent Work Management, we have experienced significant growth, particularly in the EMEA region. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our mission of empowering teams to manage projects, automate workflows, and build scalable solutions.

In this position, you will be involved in the entire development lifecycle, from concept to release, ensuring quality and scalability at every step. Responsibilities include participating in system architecture discussions, implementing new features, enhancing existing ones, maintaining and developing service APIs, and collaborating with systems engineers to troubleshoot infrastructure challenges. Additionally, you will engage in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution to maintain high system reliability.

The ideal candidate will have experience with programming languages such as Java or Golang, a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Microservice Architecture, and a background in building scalable, high-availability applications. Comfort with Linux command line environments and a degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience are also required. Fluency in English and legal eligibility to work in Bulgaria on an ongoing basis are essential.
