Legal Analyst
Discord is seeking a Legal Analyst to join its expanding legal department in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role will support the Commercial & Marketing and Intellectual Property (IP) teams, offering a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal matters, including licensing, commercial contracts, marketing issues, and gaming partnerships. The position emphasizes collaboration with various internal teams and the implementation of innovative, AI-powered solutions to enhance legal support efficiency.
As a Legal Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include responding to requests from internal partners in product, business, and marketing who require legal support. You will train clients on the contracting process and tools, ensuring proper procedures and approvals are in place for each deal. The role involves independently negotiating non-disclosure agreements with external partners using established processes and templates, advising clients on commercial, marketing, and business legal concepts, and reviewing and editing marketing materials and external communications with oversight. Additionally, you will negotiate and redline marketing, influencer, and consulting agreements with minimal oversight and support the IP team across various areas, including trademark portfolio research, IP clearances, and brand enforcement workflows.
Ideal candidates should possess a BA/BS or equivalent work experience, with 1-2 years of relevant experience in a legal, contracts, administrative, or operations role. Strong written and spoken communication skills, effective critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management abilities are essential. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure are also required. A coachable and enthusiastic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable interfacing with diverse individuals will excel in this role.
This is a temporary position for 12 months, with a base salary range of $108,000 to $121,000, prorated based on tenure, plus benefits. Candidates must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, with the expectation of being in the office one day a week.
