Legal Assistant
Morgan & Morgan, a leading personal injury law firm, is seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our team in Brooklyn, New York. This role is integral to our mission of advocating for clients against insurance companies and large corporations. As part of our dynamic legal team, the Legal Assistant will support attorneys in managing day-to-day operations and ensuring efficient case management.
The Legal Assistant will be responsible for performing administrative duties such as scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics. Key tasks include maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, organizing exhibits and legal documents, and implementing administrative processes to enhance workflow efficiency. Additionally, the role involves collecting and organizing evidence for attorney review, drafting and proofreading legal documents, conducting legal research, managing client billing, and coordinating meetings with clients and witnesses.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for those holding an associate's degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree. A minimum of one year of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal is required, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department. Experience in practice areas such as Social Security, Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, or Premises Liability is advantageous. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong multitasking abilities, excellent written and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
This on-site position offers an hourly wage of $26.45.
