Legal Consultant - Employment
Axiom, a global leader in on-demand legal talent, is seeking a mid-senior level Employment Legal Consultant to provide comprehensive legal support to its Fortune 500 clients across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This remote role is based in Singapore and involves collaborating with diverse teams to address complex employment law matters.
The primary responsibilities include advising global HR functions on employment-related legal issues, offering subject matter expertise on APAC employment laws covering employee relations, workplace policies, terminations, and labor law compliance. The consultant will lead external counsel management, draft and negotiate employment contracts and severance agreements, conduct legal research to stay updated on employment law changes, and develop training programs for HR teams and management. Additional duties involve supporting senior management in strategic planning, resolving employment disputes, collaborating with HR and management to implement effective workplace policies, and guiding best practices for employee performance management and workplace investigations. The role also supports the company's diversity and inclusion initiatives by ensuring compliance with equal employment opportunity laws.
Ideal candidates will be qualified lawyers with 6-10 years of experience in employment law, preferably from corporate or financial institutions or law firms. A strong knowledge of APAC employment law is essential, along with excellent communication skills to provide clear and concise legal advice to non-legal stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues, and a proven track record of working cross-functionally to achieve company goals while demonstrating prioritization skills is required.
