Canva's Legal Team is dedicated to establishing the company as the world's most trusted platform. Within this team, the China Legal division supports the rapidly expanding operations of Canva.cn, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to ensure compliant and scalable growth. Their work encompasses areas such as product and privacy, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, commercial matters, public policy, corporate affairs, and employment.

The Legal Counsel for Canva China will play a pivotal role in guiding the company's legal strategy, particularly concerning generative AI products, internal governance, and growth initiatives. Responsibilities include leading design reviews, advising on risk mitigation, managing AI-related regulatory filings, and representing Canva.cn in regulatory engagements. Additionally, the role involves monitoring China's evolving legal landscape and providing actionable guidance to internal teams.

Candidates must be legally qualified to practice law in the People's Republic of China, with 7–10+ years of legal experience, including in-house roles within fast-paced, technology-driven environments. A deep understanding of China's regulatory framework, especially in generative AI compliance, is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong risk awareness, practical judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively across time zones within global teams.
