Trustpilot is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Public Affairs & Regulatory team, a key component of the broader Trust team. This role is pivotal in enhancing online trust by ensuring that consumers, businesses, regulators, and other stakeholders have confidence in the platform's content and the company's commitment to ethical practices. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining Trustpilot's reputation as a trusted and compliant platform amidst an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing new laws and regulations across key markets, including the UK, EU, and US, focusing on areas such as online safety, digital content, and consumer protection. They will ensure the streamlined implementation of new legislative requirements and the maintenance of regulatory obligations. Additionally, the role involves identifying and recommending strategic improvements to Trustpilot's products and operations to ensure compliance and trustworthiness. The Legal Counsel will also provide clear and actionable guidance to stakeholders, translating complex legal and regulatory language into understandable terms, and support the Public Affairs team on advocacy initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have the right to practice law in Scotland, England & Wales, or Denmark, with 0-2 years of post-qualification experience. They should possess comprehensive legal technical skills, including proficient analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication abilities. A growth mindset with a desire for continuous learning, a bias for action focusing on outcomes, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy are essential. An enthusiasm for regulatory issues and the ability to help key stakeholders understand them is also important.
