Legal Engineer - AI Quality (Internship)
DiliTrust is seeking a Legal Engineer Intern specializing in AI Quality & Evaluation to join their Machine Learning team in Paris. This six-month hybrid internship, starting ASAP, focuses on integrating AI across DiliTrust's legal modules, ensuring AI features meet the high standards required by legal professionals. The role involves translating legal expertise into evaluation criteria, test sets, and documentation that guide the development and release of AI features.
As a Legal Engineer Intern, you will design and execute AI evaluations across various modules, including Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Board Portal, Legal Entity Management, and Matter Management. Your responsibilities will include defining what constitutes a correct answer for each feature, developing scoring rubrics, setting acceptance thresholds, and identifying edge cases pertinent to legal practice. You will also curate and maintain reference test sets, source representative legal documents, and establish ground truth to ensure the AI system's outputs are reliable and accurate. Additionally, you will collect and structure client feedback, build a failure taxonomy, and monitor the competitive landscape to inform product development.
Ideal candidates are gap-year students (Bac +4/+5) with either a legal background and a strong interest in technology or a technical/engineering background with a genuine interest in law. Applicants should possess solid legal knowledge or the ability to quickly grasp legal concepts, be fluent in both French and English, and have proficiency with productivity tools such as Confluence, Jira, Slack, and Excel/Google Sheets. Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, or AI evaluation concepts is advantageous.
