Legal Practice Assistant
McGuireWoods LLP is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant to join our New York office. This role supports a dynamic litigation team within a firm renowned for its comprehensive legal services to corporate, individual, and nonprofit clients since 1834. The Legal Practice Assistant will prepare exhibits, hearing binders, and document productions, as well as schedule depositions. Responsibilities include handling mailings, deliveries, copying, and legal/court filings, both paper and electronic. The role also involves responding promptly to client inquiries, supporting new business intake processes, maintaining organized file systems, drafting and editing legal documents, managing attorney calendars and communications, and accurately entering attorney time entries.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of litigation experience in a legal environment, with a preference for those holding a Notary Public certification. Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts is essential. The role requires the ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced word processing, and proofreading skills are necessary, along with a willingness to work with innovative technology platforms.
The position offers a salary range from $58,100 to $128,618, along with excellent benefits. McGuireWoods provides a hybrid remote option, allowing flexibility and work-life balance.
