Litigation Assistant
Morgan & Morgan is seeking a dedicated Litigation Assistant to join our Birmingham, Alabama office. As a key member of our legal team, you will support attorneys and paralegals in managing day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient case management and client service. This role is integral to our mission of advocating for clients in personal injury and related practice areas.
In this position, you will perform administrative duties such as scheduling hearings, organizing case files, and managing logistics. Responsibilities include maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, organizing exhibits and legal documents, drafting and proofreading correspondence, and conducting legal research. Additionally, you will manage client billing, communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, and maintain both paper and electronic filing systems.
The ideal candidate possesses a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an associate's degree in paralegal studies or a related field. A minimum of two years' experience as an administrative assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute, is essential. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also necessary.
