Litigation Paralegal
Crisp Recruit is seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal to join J. Hartley Law, APC, a personal injury law firm based in El Segundo, California. The firm is renowned for its client-focused approach and has nearly two decades of experience in personal injury litigation. This role is ideal for a bilingual (Spanish/English) paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced, supportive environment and aims to make a meaningful impact.
As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a pivotal role in advancing cases efficiently. Your responsibilities will include preparing and responding to discovery, proactively identifying missing information, and assisting in reviewing discovery responses. You will support case strategy by evaluating case strengths, particularly in areas like premises liability and complex medical injuries, and analyze medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy. Additionally, you will assist in preparing clients for depositions, draft and organize basic motions, coordinate with expert witnesses, manage case timelines, and provide compassionate client support throughout the litigation process.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3–5 years of paralegal experience in personal injury litigation, with a strong foundation in California procedures and case strategy. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with a diverse client base. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to anticipate case needs are essential. The candidate should also possess strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, taking initiative to move cases forward without waiting for instruction.
