Litigation Paralegal
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. This role involves working closely with a lead attorney and litigation assistant to support our mission of advocating for consumer rights. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in managing case files and ensuring the smooth progression of litigation processes.
Key responsibilities include preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda. You will be responsible for e-filing court documents in both state and federal courts, conducting legal research and factual investigations, and preparing discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses. Additionally, duties encompass drafting and serving summons, coordinating and summarizing depositions, and preparing trial binders and exhibits in collaboration with the legal assistant.
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate’s Degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, with completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program preferred. A minimum of two years of experience as a litigation paralegal or in legal services under an attorney in a law firm setting is required. Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, first-party, medical malpractice, or other injury-related practice areas is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision are also necessary.
