Litigation Paralegal
Wilson Elser is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their New Orleans office. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and involves supporting attorneys in various aspects of litigation, including pre-claim investigations, legal research, and trial preparation. The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for conducting pre-claim investigations, drafting pleadings and motions, preparing records and exhibits, analyzing medical records, and assisting with trial preparation. Additional duties include obtaining public information from government agencies, retrieving information from court-related databases, summarizing transcripts, assembling chronologies of key documents, organizing document productions, preparing materials for expert witness review, conducting investigative research, and managing case files.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or a Paralegal Certificate, with at least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience in a fast-paced environment. Experience in insurance defense and transportation litigation is preferred. Applicants must have knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management systems, strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities are essential. The ability to multitask, work independently, and proactively manage various demands daily is also required.
