Headout is seeking a Manager, Legal & Compliance to oversee the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, and managing intellectual property and data privacy programs. This role involves leading contract reviews and discussions with global partners, clients, and service providers, while supporting corporate compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, business-oriented, and capable of independently driving legal risk mitigation strategies to facilitate business growth. The position is based in Bengaluru, with immediate relocation required if necessary.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing the organization's contracting strategy, managing the full contract lifecycle from drafting to renewal, and leading contract negotiations to build strong relationships with external stakeholders. The role also encompasses overseeing the company's intellectual property portfolio, ensuring protection and strategic utilization of assets such as patents and trademarks. Additionally, the Manager will ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations, support corporate and secretarial compliance, and collaborate with the data team to manage a comprehensive data privacy program. Identifying and mitigating potential legal risks, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging technological advancements to enhance contract management processes are also integral to this role.

Candidates must possess an LL.B degree with 8–10 years of robust legal experience, either in-house or at top-tier law firms, with a solid understanding of cross-border legal matters and commercial contracts. A proven track record in independently managing end-to-end commercial contracts, particularly with exposure to legal frameworks in the US, EU, UAE, and India, is essential. Familiarity with corporate compliance, intellectual property rights, and data privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA is required, with certifications like CIPP/E or CIPM considered a strong plus. Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, along with experience in legal tech tools and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software, are preferred.
