Manager / Senior Manager, Human Resources
Lila Sciences is seeking an HR Manager to join the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) team in Cambridge, MA. This role involves serving as a reliable, day-to-day people partner to assigned managers and client groups, supporting the execution of people programs, assisting managers with employee relations and performance topics, and contributing to building a strong, consistent culture as the organization scales. This position offers a strong foundation for growth into a broader strategic HR advisory capacity over time.
Key responsibilities include partnering with assigned managers to provide hands-on HR guidance on talent management, employee relations, performance management, and team effectiveness. The HR Manager will coach managers on people leadership, navigate difficult conversations, and develop their teams. Additionally, the role involves driving the execution of core HR programs, including performance review cycles, compensation planning, and engagement initiatives. Identifying trends in people data and employee feedback to surface insights and flag areas requiring attention is also essential. Collaboration with HR, Legal, and Finance teams is necessary to ensure consistency and compliance across people processes.
The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HRBP, HR generalist, or client-facing HR role. Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with managers and leaders across an organization is crucial. Solid knowledge of core HR disciplines, including performance management and employment law fundamentals, is required. Experience coaching managers through complex or sensitive people situations, comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment, and strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential matters are also important.

The expected base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $186,667 USD.
