Managing Attorney - Farm Worker Rights Division
Colorado Legal Services (CLS) is seeking a Managing Attorney to lead its Farm Worker Rights Division. This division is dedicated to providing legal assistance to farm workers across Colorado, ensuring their rights are protected and advocating for their needs. As a statewide nonprofit, CLS offers free civil legal services to low-income individuals and seniors, focusing on areas such as housing, family law, and economic justice.
In this role, the Managing Attorney will oversee a team of attorneys and support staff, coordinating legal services and ensuring effective representation for farm workers. Responsibilities include supervising casework, providing mentorship and training to staff, and developing strategies to address systemic issues affecting farm workers. The Managing Attorney will also collaborate with community organizations, policymakers, and other stakeholders to advocate for farm worker rights and implement initiatives that promote social justice.
Ideal candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and have significant experience in civil litigation, particularly in areas related to labor and employment law. Experience working with farm workers or other vulnerable populations is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills, the ability to manage a diverse team, and a commitment to public service are essential. Fluency in Spanish or other languages relevant to the client population is preferred.
