The Medical Records Coordinator plays a critical role in capturing and organizing clinical data that powers patient outcomes and customer reporting within Carrot's fertility benefits platform. This part-time, contract position involves receiving medical records, collaborating with fertility clinics, and ensuring accurate data entry into internal systems. The role is project-based with set weekly deliverables and requires a minimum commitment of six months.
Key responsibilities include receiving, logging, and organizing incoming medical records from fertility clinics and healthcare partners, contacting clinics to request or clarify records, entering and updating patient records accurately in internal systems, following standard operating procedures to ensure data quality and compliance, identifying missing or unclear information and escalating issues appropriately, and tracking and documenting communication and record status to support timely follow-up.
Candidates should possess an Associate’s Degree or be a college student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, with 6-12 months of experience in an administrative, operations, healthcare, or data-entry role. A strong attention to detail, the ability to follow written procedures, comfort with basic technology (email, spreadsheets, databases), clear and professional communication skills, and the ability to manage repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy are essential. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree, experience in a healthcare, medical records, or insurance environment, familiarity with HIPAA or handling sensitive health information, and an interest in women’s health, fertility, or healthcare technology.
Compensation for this role includes a starting base salary ranging from $17 to $20 per hour, with actual compensation varying based on confirmed job-related skills and experience.
