Metrology Manager - Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Toronto, Inc.
Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Toronto, Inc. is seeking a Metrology Manager to oversee the calibration, qualification, preventative maintenance, data integrity, and software activities related to laboratory instruments. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all laboratory instrumentation and associated software comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and remain in optimal working condition.
The Metrology Manager will supervise the calibration team, establish work schedules, and set timelines to ensure efficient operations. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment issues, coordinating repairs with external vendors, conducting annual performance reviews for direct reports, and maintaining the instrument budget across all laboratories. Additionally, the role involves performing data integrity analyses on both existing and new laboratory equipment software, leading change management processes for new equipment, and overseeing the commissioning process. The manager will also prepare and execute qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) for instrumentation, maintain the Validation Master Plan (VMP), participate in audits, and train employees on laboratory equipment and techniques.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering, with over five years of experience as a metrology manager or head, and more than ten years in a GMP environment. A solid background in pharmaceutical testing operations is essential, along with strong knowledge of cGMP testing, ICH guidelines, and release procedures. Additional qualifications include fluency in English, excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently while supporting a team-based department, and proficiency in adapting to new technologies and software.
