Mold and Asbestos Analyst - Eurofins Built Environment Testing, San Diego, CA
Eurofins Built Environment Testing is seeking a Mold and Asbestos Analyst to join our San Diego, CA laboratory team. Eurofins is a global leader in analytical testing services, committed to ensuring the safety and sustainability of the environment through comprehensive testing solutions.
In this role, the analyst will prepare and analyze environmental samples for asbestos using Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) and assess non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi. Responsibilities include validating and reviewing data for accuracy, entering laboratory data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and managing sample workloads to meet due dates and hold times. The analyst will also perform independent data reviews, analyze quality control samples, and provide technical support to clients as needed.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, geology, or a closely related science. A minimum of one year of industry experience performing asbestos microscopy and/or fungal analysis is highly preferred. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required. The position may require overnight travel for training purposes.
The compensation range for this full-time position is $22 to $27 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with potential for overtime and weekend work as needed.
