Network Engineer in Solution Test
Arista Networks is seeking a Network Engineer in Solution Test to join our team dedicated to ensuring the quality of our products through comprehensive system testing. This role involves working within a collaborative environment to emulate complex, feature-rich customer networks, focusing on key technologies and realistic use cases to maintain our industry-leading standards.
The primary responsibilities include collaborating with development, sales, and other test teams to understand requirements and expectations. The engineer will plan and build network topologies, configure hardware and software to emulate required environments, execute exhaustive test plans focusing on performance and scalability, troubleshoot issues, and work closely with the development team for root cause analysis and resolution. Additionally, the role involves communicating results to stakeholders, providing feedback on design improvements, interacting with sales teams and customers for demonstrations, and assisting the Technical Assistance Center with escalations as needed.
Candidates should possess a Master's degree in telecommunications, computer engineering, or computer networking, along with at least 3 years of experience in a system or solution test role handling complex end-to-end environments. A detailed working knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies such as IP forwarding, IP multicast, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, MPLS, eVPN, ECMP, VRRP, STP, RSTP, MST, PVST+, Ethernet link aggregation, and LACP is essential. Proficiency in Layer 2/3 switch administration, familiarity with Linux tools, and some experience with scripting languages like Python or TCL are also required. Strong written and oral communication skills, a drive to improve quality, and a curiosity to learn new technologies are highly valued.
The base salary for this position ranges from $105,000 to $145,000, depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity.
