Network Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) - DC area
Arista Networks is seeking a highly motivated Pre-Sales Network Systems Engineer to join our Sales Engineering team in the Washington, D.C. area. This role involves collaborating with Account Managers to understand client needs and conducting network architectural reviews to identify areas for improvement. The Systems Engineer will act as a trusted advisor, gathering requirements and designing innovative solutions that align with our clients' business objectives.
Key responsibilities include delivering product presentations on Arista's Open Networking Data Center and Cognitive Campus solutions, including Wi-Fi, CloudVision (Network Automation), Security (Network Detection), Endpoint Security, and Real-time Fabric Monitoring. The role also involves architecting and proposing Data Center and Campus network solutions using leaf-spine architectures with overlay technologies such as VxLAN and EVPN. Additionally, the Systems Engineer will perform hands-on testing of customer proof-of-concept setups and provide design guidelines to enhance network performance and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in L2/L3 networking design and implementation, focusing on Data Center, Campus, and Wi-Fi solutions. Expert-level knowledge in routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols and overlay technologies like VxLAN, is essential. A technical degree is required, and network industry certifications such as ACE-L4, ACE-L6, or ACE-L7 are preferred. Strong presentation skills and the ability to build successful relationships with clients are also important.
Arista offers a competitive base salary ranging from $122,000 to $181,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Employees in sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista's Sales Incentive Plan, which includes commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales.
