OOS Investigator - Eurofins Cosmetics & Personal Care, Inc.
The OOS Investigator at Eurofins Cosmetics & Personal Care, Inc. is responsible for leading and executing Out of Specification (OOS), Out of Trend (OOT), and atypical result investigations within the Analytical Quality Control laboratory. This role ensures that laboratory investigations are conducted in a scientifically sound, timely, and compliant manner in accordance with GMP/GLP and internal quality systems. The OOS Investigator evaluates analytical data, identifies root causes, determines product impact, and supports the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to maintain data integrity and product quality.
Key responsibilities include conducting timely and scientifically sound OOS investigations, ensuring full compliance with Phase I and Phase II investigation principles according to internal SOPs, managing and scheduling retesting and re-measurement in a controlled manner, delivering high-quality, inspection-ready OOS documentation, driving effective CAPAs to prevent recurrence, collaborating effectively with clients, team members, and management, proactively identifying and trending OOS/OOT signals, maintaining inspection readiness and regulatory awareness, and ensuring work is performed in compliance with GMP, SOPs, and current test methods. Additional duties involve participating in typing and reviewing methods, workbook templates, and SOPs in electronic format in ELIMS, contributing to lab audit preparations, working productively with other departments to attain company objectives, following SOPs on investigations and CAPAs, and ensuring all lab personnel adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate holds a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience working in a QC lab with various analytical instrumentation, and 2-5 years of experience leading investigations. A solid background in analytical chemistry, including wet chemistry and instrumentation techniques, and a thorough understanding of GMP/GDP/GLP requirements are mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ELIMS is required. Additional qualifications include excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment, and the capacity to multitask and remain calm under pressure. Experience working in a contract laboratory and with cosmetic products such as creams, lotions, and ointments is considered an asset.
