Pay Transparency & Pay Equity Counsel - Washington, D.C.
Axiom is seeking a Pay Transparency & Pay Equity Counsel to join its technology client team in Washington, D.C. This role involves providing expert legal advice on global compensation, pay transparency, and pay equity matters, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk across multiple jurisdictions. The position offers an opportunity to collaborate with a leading global technology company, shaping legal strategies in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and advising on compensation-related policies and frameworks, providing legal guidance on pay transparency, pay equity, salary disclosure, equal pay, and compensation compliance matters. The role also involves collaborating with Legal, HR, Total Rewards, analytics teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders on compensation initiatives and regulatory implementation. Managing compensation-related legal and regulatory issues for a multinational technology client across the U.S., UK, EU, and other global jurisdictions is also a key aspect of the role. Staying ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes, including the EU Pay Transparency Directive, UK gender pay gap reporting, and U.S. salary disclosure laws, to provide proactive counsel is essential.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in employment law, compensation and benefits law, or a related practice area, with strong knowledge of global pay transparency, pay equity, and compensation compliance regulations. A proven track record of advising clients on complex employment or compensation-related legal matters in multinational organizations is required. Excellent communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving skills are essential. A Juris Doctor degree or equivalent and licensure to practice law in an applicable jurisdiction are mandatory.
