People Partner
As a Senior People Partner at Canva, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders within the China, Japan, Korea, and India (CJKI) teams, particularly in Beijing. This role involves balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution to support leadership through growth, change, and team development, ensuring operational excellence throughout the employee lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in aligning local practices with Canva's global mission while respecting regional nuances and legal frameworks.
Your primary responsibilities will include defining and implementing people strategies that align with global objectives and local business dynamics. You will lead organizational design, workforce planning, and change initiatives, partnering closely with leaders to enhance team performance, engagement, and overall organizational health. Additionally, you will coach and advise leaders on performance management, employee relations, talent development, and team effectiveness, ensuring compliance with Chinese employment laws and local regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have over eight years of experience in human resources, with at least five years as an HR Business Partner. A strong business acumen and proven experience in partnering with leaders in fast-paced, scaling organizations are essential. Excellent stakeholder management skills, experience in organizational design, workforce planning, and change management, as well as a solid understanding of Chinese employment law, are required. Fluency in English, both oral and written, is also necessary.
