Pilot Plant Technician I- Process & Development
The Pilot Plant Technician I- Process & Development role at Eurofins involves performing basic to moderately complex laboratory, kitchen, and pilot plant activities under the direction of a supervisor. This position is integral to the Process and Product Development (P&PD) team, contributing to the company's mission of delivering safe, healthy, and successful products in the food, beverage, and supplement industries.
Key responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized working environment in the pilot plant, assisting in project execution, and supporting process development staff with tasks such as receiving products and ingredients, storing samples, accurately weighing ingredients, and preparing products for testing and evaluation. The technician will also assist with labeling, packaging, and shipping of products, follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintain pilot plant equipment and documentation in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) programs.
The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, with one or more years of college or technical training preferred. Experience in basic mechanical repair and the use of cleaning equipment is beneficial. Prior experience in food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical pilot plant or manufacturing environments is a plus. The role requires the ability to maintain a safe and orderly work environment, follow SOPs, communicate effectively, work independently, and solve routine problems without assistance. Physical requirements include operating forklifts, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying materials, and standing and walking for most of the day.
Compensation for this role ranges from $25.00 to $27.00 per hour. Additional factors include potential overtime and weekend work as required by plant operations, exposure to potential food allergens, and the necessity to use personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, eye protection, proper footwear, lab coats, hairnets, and gloves when necessary.
