CannonDesign is seeking a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer II to join their multi-disciplinary team in Arlington, Virginia. This role involves designing plumbing and fire protection systems for various projects, including new constructions and renovations in educational, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors. The position offers an opportunity to work under the guidance of a licensed engineer and designated project leadership.

Key responsibilities include designing piping and equipment for plumbing and fire protection systems, preparing calculations with supervisory review, and creating production drawings from schematic to construction design phases. The role also involves editing specifications, specifying equipment such as sprinklers and medical gas systems, reviewing shop drawings for compliance, and effectively interfacing with clients and project team members. Additional duties encompass conducting staff development activities, mentoring junior staff, and performing field site visits during the construction phase.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, with preference given to degrees from ABET-accredited programs. A minimum of four years of related experience is required, along with a current CPD, PE, or FPE in the United States. LEED accreditation is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects effectively, and proficiency in engineering design programs like Revit are essential.

The salary range for this position is $66,700 to $83,400 annually, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
