Poultry Scientist
Eurofins Scientific is seeking a Poultry Scientist to join our team in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This role involves providing technical support for various projects within our clinical programs and vaccine construct development initiatives. As a member of our dynamic team, you will contribute to our mission of ensuring the safety and quality of products that impact public health.
Key responsibilities include performing routine cell culture work, supporting in vivo clinical activities by preparing and testing biological specimens such as serum, tissues, swabs, and fecal material, and operating analytical instruments like plate readers and microplate washers. Additionally, you will conduct analytical techniques on biological specimens, including qPCR, ELISAs, Western blotting, and virus isolation, while analyzing and interpreting experimental data under guidance.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field, or possesses equivalent directly-related experience. A minimum of one year of microbiology laboratory experience with proven skills in cell culturing techniques is required. Experience with livestock or laboratory animals is strongly preferred, along with bench experience in molecular biology, cell culture, and viral propagation. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is also necessary.
