Presuit Secretary
The Presuit Secretary at Morgan & Morgan plays a pivotal role in the pre-litigation phase of personal injury cases, working closely with case managers and attorneys to ensure efficient case progression. This position is integral to the firm's mission of advocating for consumer rights against large corporations and insurance companies.
Daily responsibilities include requesting medical bills and records, verifying coverage through shared services, and initiating case files by sending introductory letters. The role also involves obtaining necessary documents such as PIP logs, health insurance lien letters, and property damage estimates, as well as communicating with insurance companies to gather claim numbers and confirm coverage limits. Additionally, the Presuit Secretary manages the mailing of various correspondence, including no longer representing letters and demand packages, and ensures all documents are accurately scanned into the case management system.
Ideal candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, with 1-2 years of experience in an administrative assistant, insurance adjuster, or support role, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and attention to detail are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to type at least 35 words per minute are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also necessary for effective interaction with clients and team members.
