Principal Engineer - Privacy
Databricks is seeking a Principal Engineer - Privacy to join their Trust & Safety team, which is dedicated to building the most trusted data analytics and machine learning platform. This role is integral to enhancing the security and privacy of Databricks' services, ensuring that customer data remains protected from unauthorized access. The position is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and addressing key security gaps within Databricks' infrastructure and services. You will lead initiatives to enhance data security, attract top talent to the security engineering team, and represent the discipline across the organization. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events.
The ideal candidate will have over 9 years of experience in data security or related fields, with expertise in areas such as cryptography, Kubernetes security, web security, governance, privacy, trust, safety, authentication, identity management, access control, key management, inter-service authentication, secure application frameworks, and detection & response. Experience in building large-scale distributed systems with high availability is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills, the ability to lead across functional and organizational lines, and excellent communication skills to advocate for data security to senior leaders are essential. A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields is preferred.
