Principal Frontend Engineer - Web Platform

In this role, the Principal Frontend Engineer will set the technical direction for the web platform, including server-side rendering and React Server Components. A key objective is to achieve sub-two-second first-page load times, necessitating the development of measurement tools and observability practices. The engineer will also guide the frontend specialty by creating design documents, prototypes, and migration guides, ensuring a smooth transition to modern frontend practices across product teams. Hands-on coding is essential, with a focus on leading by example rather than through directives.
Ideal candidates should possess deep expertise in React, including its reconciliation and rendering processes, server component model, and hooks model. Experience with server-side rendering and performance optimization at scale is crucial. The role requires a strong understanding of frontend architecture and the ability to influence and mentor peers. A hands-on approach to coding and a passion for improving user experience through technical innovation are essential.
