Product Counsel

LinkedIn is seeking a Product Counsel to join its Legal & Public Policy team, focusing on providing legal guidance for the development and launch of consumer-facing products and features. This role is hybrid, based in either the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City, and involves close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.

The Product Counsel will advise on a broad range of legal issues, including AI, privacy, and consumer protection, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing disclosures, terms, agreements, and in-product communications to support informed choices by members and customers. The role also involves staying current on legal and policy developments related to social media platforms and emerging technologies.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of legal experience, with a J.D. and admission to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction. Experience in technology law, particularly in AI, privacy, and consumer protection, is preferred. Strong communication skills, sound legal and business judgment, and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset are essential.

The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $123,000 to $200,000, with actual compensation based on factors such as skill set, experience, and work location. Additional benefits may include annual performance bonuses, stock options, and other incentive compensation plans.
