Quality Coordinator
Eurofins Food Analytics NZ Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Coordinator to support the effective operation of the laboratory’s ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management System (QMS). While this position is based in Auckland, the successful candidate will also provide quality support to Eurofins Food and Water laboratories across New Zealand and Australia, contributing to regional alignment of quality practices, documentation, and compliance requirements. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth within a multinational scientific organisation and is well suited to individuals looking to develop their laboratory quality career.
The Quality Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO/IEC 17025-accredited Quality Management System across the Food Analytics laboratory. Key responsibilities include assisting with internal audits, external assessments, document control, and corrective action processes. The role also involves coordinating proficiency testing, supplier evaluations, equipment calibration records, and other routine quality functions. Ensuring laboratory SOPs, policies, and quality documentation are current, compliant, and aligned with Eurofins requirements is essential. Additionally, the Quality Coordinator will support quality documentation and communication for the wider Food and Water laboratories across New Zealand and Australia as part of a coordinated, regional quality framework. Preparing and maintaining quality reports, metrics, and records for audits and management reviews, assisting with staff training, competency documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives, and promoting a strong culture of quality, compliance, and operational excellence across all supported sites are also key aspects of the role.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a laboratory or scientific environment, with backgrounds in food testing, water testing, microbiology, or chemistry being advantageous. An understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 or laboratory quality systems is preferred, though training is available. Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail are essential, along with effective written and verbal communication skills. Confidence working with documentation systems and quality records is important, as is a proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple sites and teams. A tertiary qualification in science or a related discipline is preferred but not essential.
Eurofins provides a supportive, professional working environment within a leading international scientific organisation. Career development opportunities include pathways into regional and national quality positions, with training and exposure to quality systems across multiple laboratories in New Zealand and Australia. Competitive remuneration and employee benefits are offered, along with the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the integrity of analytical services that support New Zealand and Australia’s food and water industries.
