The Quantic team, founded in 2016, serves as Walleye's principal quantitative investment division and has become one of the industry's most successful trading teams.

The Quantitative Research & Development role involves collaborating with a team of scientists, engineers, and traders to leverage advanced statistical modeling techniques for identifying and capitalizing on profitable trading opportunities in global equities, options, and futures. The team emphasizes a pragmatic, engineering-driven culture that prioritizes achieving goals effectively and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities include conducting hypothesis-driven research to design and test predictive signals for asset price forecasting, extracting and analyzing large datasets from various sources to inform trading decisions, building and improving machine learning and optimization systems for predictions and risk management, and developing sophisticated tools and software to facilitate data analysis, modeling, portfolio simulation, and trade execution.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Operations Research, or a related field. They should demonstrate the ability to think independently and develop creative solutions to complex problems, have strong analytical and statistical modeling skills evidenced by real-world research projects or code repositories, and exhibit programming proficiency in languages such as R, Python, and/or Java, along with experience in databases and query languages. A passion for financial markets, investing, and trading is also essential.

The expected base salary for this position is $240,000, accompanied by a discretionary bonus.
