Rail Inspector Hybrid
Eurofins is seeking a dedicated Rail Inspector to join our team, focusing on ensuring grain quality across the Midwest. This role involves both laboratory work and field assignments, including travel to various grain sites for inspection and analysis. The Rail Inspector will be responsible for performing visual inspections and analyses of grain to determine grades in accordance with Eurofins Grain Inspection SOPs and USDA grain standards. Key duties include conducting tests for moisture, weight, and mycotoxins, operating mobile lab equipment and probe trucks, and maintaining accurate records to communicate results to clients. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, with potential for overnight stays during rail assignments.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with 1-2 years of related experience preferred; however, on-the-job training is available. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and proof of up-to-date auto insurance are required. Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently in varying environments are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams is also necessary.
Eurofins offers competitive compensation, including hourly pay ranging from $16.50 to $18.50, with opportunities for commission, shift differentials, and mileage reimbursement. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available for candidates with grain grading experience.
