Regional HR Lead
The Regional HR Lead at Canva is responsible for overseeing the people agenda across Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. This role involves adapting global People initiatives to fit local contexts, ensuring compliance with regional regulations, and fostering a culture that aligns with Canva's values while respecting local nuances. The position is based at Canva's Manila campus and offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility in work arrangements.
Key responsibilities include bridging global and local HR strategies by operationalizing global initiatives to be effective and compliant within the region. The Regional HR Lead will provide targeted People Partnering support to specific client groups, manage regional employment compliance, and act as the escalation point for complex employee relations matters. Additionally, the role involves leading a team across People Partnering, People Relations, and Location Partners, setting regional priorities, and ensuring cohesive delivery of HR services.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a senior HR Business Partner in a complex, global environment, with deep knowledge of the Southeast Asian employment landscape, including regulatory requirements and cultural nuances. A track record of leading and developing People teams, strong judgment in navigating ambiguity, and the ability to influence without authority are essential. The candidate should also be comfortable operating with significant autonomy and possess a pragmatic, thoughtful approach with a genuine bias for action.
