Regulatory Counsel
Adyen is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to join its dynamic LATAM Regulatory team in São Paulo. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product teams to assist in launching new payment products and enhancing existing offerings. The position involves working alongside legal, compliance, risk, and commercial teams globally to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and develop scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities include providing strategic regulatory advice on payment laws and regulations, such as payment institution licensing, e-money, digital wallets, and payment schemes. You will collaborate with product teams to understand commercial and technical needs, lead regulatory engagements with regulators and auditors, anticipate emerging regulatory obligations, and translate these into policies and procedures for global implementation.
The ideal candidate has over five years of experience in regulatory or legal functions focused on payments, financial services, or fintech, either in-house or at a top-tier law firm. A strong understanding of the Brazilian payments and financial services industry is essential. The role requires initiative, independence, analytical thinking, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must be licensed attorneys with a valid OAB registration and fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
