Profluent is seeking a motivated and creative Research Associate to join our Platform Discovery team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior team members to design, execute, and optimize high-throughput screening campaigns aimed at discovering, characterizing, and optimizing novel gene editing tools. Your contributions will be pivotal in enabling new therapeutic opportunities.

Key responsibilities include designing and executing robust molecular and cell-based assays to measure on- and off-target activities of gene editing systems using targeted and genome-wide analytical methods. You will oversee NGS-based screening workflows, including library preparation, assay quality control, sequencing coordination, and data quality assessment. Additionally, you will partner with High Throughput Operations to enhance assay reproducibility, throughput, and operational robustness, while maintaining organized tracking of samples, reagents, and consumables to support efficient screening operations.

The ideal candidate holds a BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field, with 0-5 years of academic or biotechnology industry research experience. Extensive hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture is essential. Proficiency in developing and executing molecular or cell-based assays employing qPCR/dPCR, NGS, and/or flow cytometry techniques is required. A deep understanding of genetic medicine, gene editing systems, and DNA repair mechanisms is highly desirable.

Profluent offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $83,000 to $104,000 per year, with equity participation.
