Research Scientist - Synthetic Organic Chemist - Eurofins CDMO Alphora, Inc.
Eurofins CDMO Alphora Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist specializing in Synthetic Organic Chemistry to join our dynamic team. As part of Eurofins Scientific, a global leader in life sciences, our division focuses on developing and manufacturing new therapeutics to enhance patient health. We provide contract research and development services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, assisting in the development and manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished dosage products for clinical trials and commercial use.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing experiments in our R&D laboratories, analyzing and interpreting data, and documenting findings in development reports. You will develop inherently safe processes based on thermal hazard assessments, maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, and facilitate technology transfer to both internal and external manufacturing facilities.
The ideal candidate will hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, with experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry considered an asset. Alternatively, a B.Sc. in Chemistry with over 10 years of relevant industry experience is acceptable. A strong knowledge of organic chemistry and hands-on experience in synthesizing complex organic molecules are essential. Experience in process scale-up, raw material selection and sourcing, setting specifications, and understanding economic and regulatory constraints will be advantageous. Candidates must be highly motivated, well-organized, capable of meeting project timelines, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team environment.
