Revenue Technical Accountant
Box is seeking a Revenue Technical Accountant to join its Finance and Analytics team in Tokyo, Japan. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards and supporting the company's rapid growth in the cloud content management sector. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting, the position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to Box's mission of powering how the world works together.
The Revenue Technical Accountant will collaborate with various departments, including Legal, Deal Desk, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, and Sales Representatives, to oversee revenue recognition, pricing strategies, and contract structuring. Key responsibilities include reviewing revenue contracts for compliance, conducting technical accounting analyses on complex issues, assisting with monthly and quarterly close processes, and performing pricing assessments to support business initiatives.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, along with a CPA certification. Preferred qualifications include 3-4 years of relevant experience in public accounting or multinational high-tech companies, a strong understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles, excellent project management and communication skills, and proficiency with NetSuite. A passion for cloud technologies and the ability to influence senior management decisions are also desirable.
