Scientific Officer
Eurofins is seeking a Scientific Officer to support the establishment and operation of a high-throughput Molecular Laboratory. This role involves collaborating with a dedicated team to implement molecular testing services, including COVID-19 PCR testing and other pipeline PCR tests, within a leading international life sciences company.
Key responsibilities include developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflow protocols for molecular testing, ensuring regulatory compliance with biosafety and quality standards, and overseeing the procurement and timely delivery of laboratory equipment and consumables. The Scientific Officer will also support the recruitment, selection, and training of staff for molecular testing, and lead audits to attain necessary testing licenses.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Science in Medical Technology or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a molecular laboratory, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role. A strong understanding of molecular diagnostics methods, materials, equipment, and techniques is essential, along with the ability to organize, communicate, teach, and collaborate effectively. Knowledge of relevant state and local standards, regulations, guidelines, and requirements affecting clinical reference laboratory operations is also required.
