Eurofins USA PSS Insourcing Solutions is seeking a Scientist specializing in Biocatalysis and Enzymatic Process Development to support a client-based research program in applied biocatalysis. This role involves leveraging enzymatic transformations to prepare chiral intermediates and optimizing reaction conditions to accelerate chemical and process development. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of subject matter experts, contributing to method and process optimization while adhering to laboratory safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities include executing enzymatic reactions to synthesize chiral intermediates, optimizing biocatalytic reactions for efficiency and scalability, and developing enzyme activity assays and kinetic evaluations. The scientist will also perform high-throughput experimentation, conduct chiral and analytical characterization using techniques such as UPLC and GC, and maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebook records. Additional duties encompass preparing experimental protocols and technical reports, performing routine laboratory equipment maintenance, and supporting general laboratory operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Chemistry, Biocatalysis, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team. The role requires a demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to evolving project priorities and timelines, as well as being highly self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving. Preferred qualifications include over two years of laboratory experience in biocatalysis or related fields, hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, GC, NMR, and MS, and familiarity with pharmaceutical development environments and cGMP principles.

This full-time position offers a competitive hourly compensation range of $53 to $56, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation and holidays, and eligibility for potential yearly bonuses and merit-based pay increases.
