Scientist I - Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater West, LLC - Bend, OR
Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater West is seeking a Scientist I to join our team in Bend, Oregon. Eurofins Scientific is a global network of laboratories providing a wide range of analytical testing services to ensure the safety and quality of products across various industries. This role is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality environmental analysis services to our clients.
The Scientist I will be responsible for preparing and analyzing environmental samples, including potable and non-potable water, as well as soil, using established scientific and EPA-approved analytical techniques. Key duties include setting up and analyzing microbiology and inorganic samples, interpreting Oregon Health Authority regulations, assisting clients, processing samples, maintaining laboratory cleanliness, managing inventory, performing quality control checks, preparing Certificates of Analysis, and conducting monthly environmental monitoring. The role also involves documenting laboratory functions, performing proficiency testing, assisting with sampling routes, and analyzing samples on weekends when required.
Candidates should possess a BS or BA in chemistry or a related field; however, three years of laboratory experience may substitute for a degree. A minimum of two weeks of training at an academic institution in microbiological analysis of drinking water or 80 hours of on-the-job training is required. Two or more years of bench-top laboratory experience is a plus. Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship and demonstrate professional proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
This full-time position offers a compensation range of $22.20 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with possible overtime and weekend work as needed.
