Scientist, LC/GC Interpretation | EAG Laboratories
EAG Laboratories, a division of Eurofins Scientific, is seeking a Scientist to join our Medical Device team in Maryland Heights, Missouri. This role focuses on the interpretation of data from Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) instruments. Our laboratory specializes in investigative analytical chemistry, providing services such as evaluating consumer product label claims, reverse engineering pharmaceuticals, contaminant identification, and testing medical devices.
The primary responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting data from LCMS and GCMS instruments to identify compounds in various samples. This involves working on high-throughput projects, such as chemical characterization of medical devices in compliance with ISO 10993-18 standards. The scientist will collaborate with the analytical team to extract devices in various solvents, analyze the extracts, and identify all peaks above a specified reporting limit. The role offers flexibility, with work primarily conducted on-site but with remote options as needed.
Candidates must possess an MS degree in Chemistry or a related field with at least 3 years of industry experience, or a PhD with at least 1 year of industry experience. Proficiency in LCMS and/or GCMS data interpretation is essential, along with experience in compound identification. Familiarity with software such as Compound Discoverer, Trace Finder, Unknowns Analysis, and Mass Hunter is advantageous. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of method development and validation processes are also required.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
