Security Engineer, Infrastructure
Scale AI is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Security Engineer to join their team. This role is integral to ensuring the security and integrity of Scale's platform, which supports the development of reliable AI systems for critical decision-making. The position is available in multiple locations, including New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; and Washington, DC.
The Infrastructure Security Engineer will be responsible for securing large cloud environments across providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Key responsibilities include implementing and maintaining robust security configurations and policies, conducting regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, and developing security best practices for infrastructure automation and orchestration. The role also involves collaborating with Developer Experience, IT, and product teams to integrate security into all stages of the infrastructure lifecycle, as well as reviewing and securing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
Ideal candidates will have proven experience as a Security Engineer with a focus on product security. Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, and Kubernetes is essential, along with experience in orchestrating and securing GPU clusters. Candidates should also be proficient in infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation. Excellent communication skills are required to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to influence security strategies and drive improvements within an organization is highly valued. Relevant security certifications, such as AWS Certified Security Specialty or Certified Cloud Security Professional, are considered a plus. Experience in a senior or lead security role is preferred.
Compensation packages at Scale AI for eligible roles include base salary, equity, and benefits. The base salary range for this full-time position in locations such as San Francisco, New York, and Seattle is $237,600 to $297,000 USD. Employees in eligible roles are also granted equity-based compensation, subject to Board of Director approval. Additional benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, and generous PTO. This role may also be eligible for additional benefits such as a commuter stipend.
