Senior Attorney (Senior Estate Planning Strategist I)
Mercer Advisors is seeking a Senior Attorney (Senior Estate Planning Strategist I) to join their Wealth Solutions group, a dynamic team dedicated to providing and implementing planning strategies for high-net-worth clients. This role involves collaborating with wealth advisors and financial planners to review, fund, and maintain estate plans, ensuring clients' financial goals are met effectively.
Key responsibilities include meeting with clients to design, implement, and fund complex estate planning and wealth transfer strategies. The role also involves drafting estate plan documents such as irrevocable trusts, revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related funding documents. Additionally, the Senior Attorney will advise on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax strategies, coordinate with wealth advisors and tax experts, and prepare and review deeds and real property transfer documents.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and be licensed to practice law in at least one state. An LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is strongly preferred. A minimum of 5 years of legal experience in estate planning with deep technical expertise is desired. The candidate should have a proven track record of handling planning matters for high-net-worth clients and the ability to interpret and convey complex estate planning topics to wealth management teams and clients. Willingness to travel up to 25% is also required.
Mercer Advisors offers a competitive base salary ranging from $136,000 to $160,000, with actual pay based on factors such as geographic location, experience, education, skills, and certifications. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors' programs.
