Senior Backend Engineer, Core Services
Censys is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Core Services team. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining the critical infrastructure that supports authentication, authorization, analytics, and user account management across our platform. As a key member, you will collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust, extensible, and maintainable software solutions.
In this role, you will build and extend services to provide new core functionality to the platform, expand our authentication, authorization, and analytics capabilities, and build, test, deploy, and monitor a distributed set of services. You will work closely with the product team, designers, and other engineering teams to expand the Censys public API and improve the developer experience for both internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience writing backend services in Golang, a solid understanding of distributed systems and their challenges, and general knowledge of database design and common access patterns. Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), strong collaborative and teamwork skills, and strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are also essential.
For high cost of living areas (San Francisco Bay, New York City, and Seattle), the expected salary range for this position is $165,000 USD - $188,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility and equity. For all other locations, the expected salary range is $135,000 USD - $155,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility and equity.
