As a Senior Backend Engineer at Remote, you will join a cross-functional team comprising Frontend, Backend, SRE, and QA engineers. In this position, you will lead the development of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing feedback on product work, suggesting technical solutions, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the team's domain, contributing to the shared codebase, debugging and resolving technical issues, and mentoring other engineers. Additionally, you will be involved in non-team activities such as support rotations, the hiring process, and RFC discussions.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a Backend Engineer working with Elixir, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects. Proficiency with Postgres (or similar databases) and CI/CD tools like GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins is required. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, and frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular is considered a plus.
