Senior Backend Engineer
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Remote, you will join a cross-functional team comprising Frontend, Backend, SRE, and QA engineers. In this role, you will lead the development of major projects, participate in cross-team initiatives, and design and implement APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include contributing to the shared codebase, debugging and resolving technical issues, mentoring other engineers, and proposing improvements to the platform. You will work with technologies such as Elixir, Phoenix, Postgres, React, Next.js, GitLab, and AWS.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a Senior Backend Engineer, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects. Proficiency with Postgres or similar databases and CI/CD tools like GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins is required. Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is beneficial. Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, and frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular is also advantageous.
