Senior Backend Engineer (Rust) (m/f/d)
Affinidi is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Rust to join our dynamic team in Berlin, Germany. As a key member of our engineering department, you will contribute to the development of the Affinidi Elements platform, focusing on creating secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex backend features using Rust, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards. Your day-to-day activities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain multi-component platforms, contributing to architectural decisions, and addressing large-scale technical challenges. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and driving improvements in product quality, security, and performance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong backend development skills with Rust as a core expertise, along with deep knowledge of TypeScript/Node.js; experience with Dart is strongly preferred. Proven experience in performance optimization, cloud computing (AWS), and developing distributed systems using modern design patterns is essential. A commitment to privacy by design, security-first principles, and high-performance systems is highly valued. Experience with asynchronous cryptography and authorization/authentication domains is advantageous.
