Senior Commercial Counsel
The Senior Commercial Counsel at Mozilla will serve as a trusted advisor to the company's business teams, providing proactive and solution-oriented legal guidance across a wide range of commercial matters. This role is integral to Mozilla's mission of building an open and accessible internet, supporting various projects and transactions that align with the organization's values.
Key responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and advising on diverse transactions and agreements, such as B2B enterprise and SaaS sales, strategic partnerships, marketing, advertising, and vendor engagements. The counsel will guide business teams on operational considerations, drive deal execution, and manage multiple projects with limited oversight, adapting to challenges and ambiguity as they arise.
Candidates must possess a J.D. degree and be a member in good standing of a state bar. They should have 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including in-house counsel roles, and expertise in negotiating and drafting various commercial technology and vendor agreements, including SaaS and Data Processing Agreements. A commitment to excellent client service, the ability to build trust-based relationships across cross-functional teams, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach that balances business objectives with legal risk are essential.
