Senior Counsel, Counter Censorship Task Force
The Senior Counsel for the Counter Censorship Task Force at Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is a pivotal role focused on safeguarding free speech and religious freedom. This position operates within ADF's Counter Censorship team, dedicated to countering efforts that suppress speech threatening the organization's mission to uphold the God-given right to live and speak the truth. The Senior Counsel reports directly to the Senior Counsel and Senior Vice President of the Counter Censorship Task Force.
In this capacity, the Senior Counsel will lead the development of federal and state policy and regulatory initiatives aligned with the Counter Censorship Task Force's objectives. Responsibilities include conducting complex legal research, drafting amicus briefs, comment letters, and other formal submissions, and providing legal counsel to business leaders on relevant issues. The role also involves assisting in drafting model legislation, preparing expert testimony, and engaging in media interviews and public speaking engagements to advance the Task Force's goals.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, an active license in at least one U.S. state bar, and the capability to meet admission requirements in the relevant jurisdiction within one year. A minimum of 10 years of legal experience is required. Strong communication, writing, and speaking skills are essential, along with creativity, innovation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
While specific salary ranges are not disclosed, compensation is competitive with top non-profit law firms.
